Fruit Custard - Fruit Salad
Refreshing, Creamy and quick eggless fruit custard made with milk, sugar, custard powder and fruits, flavored with cardamom and nutmeg.

- 4 cups whole milk
- 1/3 cup warm milk
- 4 tbsp custard powder
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ tsp cardamom powder
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- Splash of vanilla extract optional
- Nuts and cherry garnish optional
- Fruits – ½ cup chikoo 2-3 bananas, bunch of green grapes, 1 small apple, ½ cup pomegranate arils, and ½ cup papaya, finely chopped
Boil milk in deep pot or pan, remove 1/3 cup of milk in small bowl or pouring jar. Add custard powder in that milk we just removed in a small bowl.
Once rest of the milk boils, reduce the flame add the custard powder/milk mixture and sugar. Gradually stir until the custard powder is mixed well. There should not be any lumps in the milk.
Once it starts thickening, turn off the flame. Let it cool down completely and then add chopped fruits and cardamom, freshly grated nutmeg and vanilla extract. Store it in fridge for atleast 1-2 hours or longer until you are ready to serve.
Serve it chilled with some bottled cherry and pistachios on top.
