- 2 cups Hazelnut Flour Bob’s Red Mill
- ½ cup sugar light brown or granulated white
- ½ cup milk powder full fat
- ½ cup whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- ½ cup hazelnut spread Bonne Maman or Nutella
- 2 tbsp Toasted hazelnuts and edible silver/gold for garnish
Take 2 tbsp ghee in a pan on medium heat, add hazelnut flour, sugar, milk powder and milk in it. Mix everything until the mixture comes together. It should take approximately, anywhere between 8-10 minutes. Keep stirring, you cannot leave it by itself. Sugar should have melted too.
Once it starts leaving the sides, and it will be cooked.
Transfer it a greased plate or pan. I love to use tart pan for this. Let it cool down.
Once burfi cools down, warm some hazelnut chocolate spread in microwave for just 10 seconds and add it on top of burfi mix. Spread using a flat spatula. Immediately, add chopped hazelnuts and lightly press them in the chocolate spread.
Place the tray in the fridge to completely set. The burfi has soft texture even after taking out from the fridge. Once it sets, it is easier to stick the edible silver or gold.
