Peda is the popular and very traditional mithai recipe from India. It’s usually made from Khoya but in States, I prefer it with milk powder. It’s made from very few ingredients like milk powder, milk, sugar, and cardamom powder. In the festive mood, I decided to try a tricolor peda recipe with rose, chocolate and plain flavors. It is a gluten free street food dish. Palak (Spinach) Patta (Leaf) is one of the most delicious chaat that you won’t stop eating once you dig into it. It gets super addictive bite after bite that you cannot resist. India is known for its chaats. There papdi chaat, alu chaat, fruit chaat, dahi puri, bhel etc. My mouth is watering right now even while writing this post. Chaat has all these fun tasting components to it. It’s slightly spicy from green chutney, tamarind chutney gives that sweetness, and sev or boondi gives crispy factor and chaat masala gives that ‘umami’ flavor.

In Gujarati, the word ‘SUKH’ means happiness and I guess that’s where the name came from. Some families call this sweet dish ‘Gor Papdi’ We call Jaggery, Gor or Gud and usually it is shaped thinly therefore the word Papdi. Jaggery is healthier sweetener than sugar.
