Rhubarb-tini
Welcome to the happy hour with me. Today I bring to you, an easy martini recipe. Before the rhubarb season goes away, I wanted to share this recipe.
I love rhubarb in everything I make when it is in season. I made a simple syrup with rhubarb. The best part is you can make a huge jar of rhubarb syrup and keep it for later use.
Martini recipes can be either made with vodka or gin. My favorite base spirit for martini is always Vodka. For those of you who already have your preferences, this will just be a very good chance to drink a martini. I just need a reason. Today’s excuse is I had a very busy week and its Friday and time for a cocktail per se martini.
But for those of you who haven’t yet developed a preference, consider this your chance to figure out what makes a martini and what is your preferred way to have it.
I am not a skilled person for cocktails. But martinis usually have dry gin, dry vermouth and garnishes usually include lemon and olives. I have also seen people add bitters in theirs specially I love orange bitters. Vermouth has botanical herby earthy flavors to it. But you can skip it and just use Vodka. I prefer sweet vermouth to dry.
Usually martinis are stirred. But this girl prefers hers shaken. And, it also helps you put up a show when you are entertaining guests.
Chilled glasses are preferred. But who remembers that? Right? And that’s totally okay. But if you do remember to do so and do it. It’s a good idea to have them chilled.
You can also make it non-alcoholic drink by using sparkling water if you don’t drink. Just saying. 🙂
