Jamun Masala Cooler

Jamun Masala Cooler

Jamun Masala cooler is such a fun summer drink. It’s made with Java plums or Jamuns and some other few ingredients.

From the beautiful color to taste it’s a great drink to make during hot months.

Jamuns or also known as Java plums are such a famous summer fruit in India and some other Asian countries. They are known for their health benefits. But I love the color of Jamuns. It’s from berry family with sweet and sour taste. After eating few, you also get an after taste that lingers in your mouth.

In this drink, I have added some spices (does not make it spicy) to enhance the flavors. Chaat masala and roasted cumin seeds powder add such a nice Indian style lemonade flavor. For those who do not know the flavor of chaat masala, it has sour and salty kind of taste. It brightens up this drink along with lemons. Once you add chaat masala, be careful on how much salt to add. Use roasted cumin seeds and coarsely grind it in mortar or pestle or use a grinder. Adding sparkling water is optional, but it adds nice fizz to the drink.

Jamuns are easily available in Indian grocery stores in frozen section. Remember to deseed them.
