Delicious Fig Cheese Tart
This fig and goat cheese tart with pecans is flavored by fresh thyme and not that only it gets drizzle of balsamic glaze. It makes for a light lunch or an appetizer and specially when you don’t want to spend too much time on preparation.
Furthermore, its looks impressive and tastes fantastic. I love the cheese and fig combination. Additionally, I have used small Kawan Paratha to bake this, but you can double the recipe and make a large tart too and cut into squares.
Moreover, you can also make smaller puff pastry bites too.
Everyone will love this tart; my husband and I loved it.
Figs are right in season and fresh figs are not easily available but anytime I see them, I must get a box or two of them.
Most of the recipes, I have tasted or tried have either have goat cheese or ricotta. I want to try something else, so I used different cheese.
The sweet figs compliment the salty cheese and adds a savory touch to it. I have also added pecans for crunch and texture. Thyme adds nice tiny herb flavor. The balsamic glaze adds a nice finishing touch to the overall dish.
This fig tart recipe combines cheese, sweet figs, pecans and balsamic glaze all tucked in puff pastry or paratha. It makes for sweet and savory appetizer or light lunch with a side of salad. More tarts or galette recipes to try.

- 4-5 sliced Figs
- 1 tbsp Fig Jam
- Sprigs thyme
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 tsp balsamic glaze

- Add roughly chopped pecans. Sprinkle some thyme on top and bake it away for 20-25 minutes until cheese is all melty and bubbly and the base looks baked.
- Let it cool down just little bit, then drizzle some balsamic glaze and more thyme if you like.
- Cut into desired slices and enjoy with a side of salad and a glass of wine.
- You can serve this as an appetizer too.
Notes
- You can use any blend of cheese. Or use goat cheese, or cream cheese the most desired cheese that pairs well.
- If you serve it as an appetizer, you can ad some arugula also on top just before plating.
- It is best enjoyed the same day, but leftover can be stored and reheated in an oven or toaster oven to maintain the crispiness of the base.
