Passionfruit Frozen Yogurt Barks
Frozen Yogurt barks are super easy, fun to make and healthy snack option for kids and adults alike for summer weather.
These frozen yogurt barks are nothing but simple, quick and healthy snack for kids and adults for summer. It cannot get healthier and simpler because this recipe takes literally 10 mins.
All you need is your favorite yogurt. I have used homemade vanilla yogurt. We try to eat yogurt everyday for breakfast or mid- afternoon snack. Its so healthy for everyone.
I bought a huge box of passion fruit from rincontropics. My husband was surprised to see that I ordered a whole box of passion fruit. He though, I lost my mind. Mangoes are the only fruit that have ever been bought in huge boxes at my house. But it felt like a good deal and the pulp of passion fruit can be freeze too to use later on. I will be sharing more recipes with passionfruit but for now, this yogurt bark recipe is that came to my mind.
If you follow me on social media, you might have seen me eat passionfruit with yogurt. That’s where the idea came from. I love opening my fridge and taking a piece of it. It’s perfect once we have more warmer days. I am also planning to make more when I have some friends coming over, to offer their kids something sweet and cold. I might add whole berries in them next time. It satisfies those mid-afternoon cravings. The three main ingredients are yogurt, sweetener and fruits.
It would be a fun idea to make these with your kids. Get them to whisk everything and pour. They will be double excited to try those.
PassionFruit Yogurt Barks
Ingredients
- 1 cup plain yogurt thick
- 1 tbsp honey
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 2-3 tbsp fruit puree
- 1/8 tsp salt optional
- Toppings – Fruit, Nuts, Cacao nibs, goji berries, sprinkles etc.
Instructions
- Take yogurt and all the other ingredients in a mixing bowl. Whisk until its smooth.
- Pour this yogurt mix on a parchment lined tray. They should be ¼ inch. Use smaller tray that way, it won’t spread too much. The thinner the yogurt is spread out, the thinner these barks would be.
- Sprinkle toppings of your choice.
- Freeze it overnight or at least 6-7 hours until it firms up and becomes frozen.
- Remove and cut into pieces. You can use a knife or just randomly cut pieces with hand.
- Serve them frozen.
- Store it in a tight container in the frozen.
Notes
- If you are using whole fruits, use a blender to mix them into yogurt instead of whisking.
- If you do not want to add fruit purees, then ad whole berries on top. I can think of so many combinations mangoes and coconut, summer berries etc.
- Make them ¼ thicker, so they do not melt easily.
