Veggie Kebab Hot Dog- Chaat Dog

Veggie Kebab Hot Dog- Chaat Dog

It’s unbelievable, but these veggie style hot dogs taste so delicious. They are made from potato kebab/patties and sauces really elevate the flavors. Serve these in a bun with all sorts of deliciousness on top including sev, pomegranate and cheese.

This isn’t anything difficult or different from a sandwich.

The potato kebab is made with boiled potatoes, corn, carrots and peas with some aromatics and spices to add flavor. You can shallow fry the kebab or deep fry them, either way it tastes good.

We have gone overboard with the sauces, but damn they taste so good, that can’t complain. I have used cilantro mayo, peri-peri, mayonnaise, ketchup, and then it is topped off with amul cheese, sev and pomegranate. I love cilantro so I garnished it with cilantro too. This chaat dog mimics chaat flavors.

I love how colorful it looks visually with all the toppings.

If you like to add other recipes to your Diwali Menu.

Variations

Other things that can be added jalapenos, chopped onions, boondi, some roasted masala peanuts etc. I bet you will love it.

Instead of peri-peri sauce, you can use sriracha or any other hot sauce you like.

Notes –

It can be assembled the buns with tikki and then let people add sauces to their liking or if you prefer to assemble it for presentation, then do it just before everyone arrives. It won’t make it soggy within an hour of the adding the toppings but won’t suggest it for too long.

Leftover tikkis can be warmed up in toaster oven or microwave, they will have a soft texture compared to the day they are prepared.
