Spinach Artichoke Wonton Cups

Spinach Artichoke Wonton Cups

Spinach, Artichoke and cheese create one of my favorite combos. I love spinach artichoke dip a lot and decided to put it into little wonton cups to make these tasty snack or appetizers. They are creamy delicious and easy appetizer for entertaining.

Initially, I wanted to make fried wontons, but last minute decided not to fry so ended up making wonton cups. I made these during Superbowl.

Wonton Wrappers

Wontons are square shaped cheese filled fried food quite popular at Chinese restaurants. You can easily buy wonton wrappers in the stores. They come in frozen, square shaped. One less thing to make at home and that’s what makes it easier. They make cute crispy cups, and you can literally fill them up with anything. I decided to fill them up with spinach artichoke dip.

Tips and Suggestion

Pressing wonton wrappers can be tricky, so when you do so make sure they are soft and brush them with some oil. If you try too hard to press them into shape, they will tear. Try to pinch them in flower shape and then insert them in muffin cup. These taste best when served warm. You can, however, prepare the filling and bake the cups, and then fill and bake them when guests arrive.

Place the tray with filled wonton wrappers back in the oven for another 5-6 minutes.
